Named after the city of Lockhart, the Barbecue Capital of Texas, Lockhart Smokehouse promises to provide Dallasites with “the great smoked meat classics” that gave Lockhart its reputation. The Dallas location is in Bishop Arts District and serves up smoked salmon, burnt ends, lamb chops, prime rib, and more. They also ship their barbecue, so you can share the love with others.
Pecan Lodge – 2702 Main Street, Dallas, TX 75226
For a decade, Pecan Lodge has fed Dallas some of the best BBQ around. They sell smoked meat by the half-pound, handmade sausage by the link, and ultra-comforting side dishes typical of the best BBQ joints, like mac and cheese, fried okra, and coleslaw. You can also try their specialty dishes, which include an open-faced sweet potato stuffed with South Texas barbacoa or southern-style fried chicken.
Smokey John's Bar-B-Que – 1820 West Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75235
Most Dallasites are already very familiar with Smokey John’s, but in case you’re not, place your order tonight with this iconic Dallas restaurant. They are most famous for their brisket, but you can order plenty of other items from Smokey John’s, including classic BBQ platters, family packs that will feed a crowd, fried catfish plates, and more.
