If ever we needed a dose of political sanity, it’s right now — like preferably this very second. Things have never been nuttier, and that’s saying something considering that the 1970s happened. Laura Gunderson’s The Taming deals head on with our devolving national dialogue, taking on the liberal-conservative divide that’s wreaking havoc at break room tables and on Facebook pages throughout the country.
The play puts an uber-patriotic Miss Georgia between two political foes in a locked hotel room and what follows is a wacky comedy that melds satire with a light dive into our nation’s political history and a plea for a little compromise and saneness.
